An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join a leading National M&E Contractor on a major mixed-use development in London.
This is a site-based role with critical responsibility for the safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of electrical works through to completion.
Job Purpose
You will take ownership of the technical and safe delivery of electrical installations on site, supervising teams and subcontractors while ensuring works are completed to programme, budget, and the highest quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Leadership
* Supervise and coordinate electrical installation works on site.
* Directly manage electricians, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure "right first time" delivery.
* Provide supervisory cover when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Drive "Zero Incidents, Zero Harm" standards across site.
* Ensure full compliance with BS 7671, CDM 2015 regulations, and NICEIC requirements.
* Maintain robust H&S systems including RAMS, toolbox talks, and electrical site safety audits.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
* Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, cable sizing, control panels, and technical submittals.
* Conduct inspections and quality audits.
* Ensure as-built records, NICEIC certificates, and completion documentation are accurate and up to date.
Project Planning & Delivery
* Monitor progress against programme and budget.
* Assist with labour planning and resource allocation.
* Identify corrective actions to maximise productivity and minimise delays.
Commissioning & Handover
* Support commissioning activities including loop testing, pre-commissioning checks, and final system handover.
* Assist in resolving technical issues efficiently.
Coordination & Communication
* Liaise with clients, project managers, and other trades (mechanical and civil).
* Ensure seamless integration of services across the project.
Materials & Resource Management
* Identify and coordinate materials and consumables to prevent disruption.
* Maintain accurate stock control and documentation.
Reporting & Administration
* Complete and collect electricians' job sheets.
* Maintain accurate site records and required documentation.
* Provide daily progress reports highlighting risks and issues.
* Keep schedules and calendars up to date.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Experience
* Proven experience in electrical installation and supervision within construction or building services.
* Demonstrable experience in a similar supervisory role.
Technical Knowledge
* Strong understanding of high and low voltage systems, building services, and control systems.
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic capability, with the ability to design remedial solutions.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Services (or equivalent).
* Valid CSCS/ECS card.
* SSSTS or SMSTS (SMSTS preferred).
Additional Requirements
* Suitable background to support NICEIC Qualified Supervisor duties (advantageous).
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* IT competent (Microsoft Office essential; BIM/Revit advantageous).
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
