1st Step Solutions are supporting one of our clients who have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team based in London.

Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy of 65-70 professionals, specialising in MEP services and building consultancy. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within a supportive team.

The Role
This is a varied role combining high-quality mechanical design work with hands-on site involvement. In addition to design responsibilities, you will regularly attend site to survey plantrooms, contribute to CAPEX planning, and produce project estimate schedules.

Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical design across a range of building services projects
* Surveying plantrooms and existing installations
* Supporting CAPEX planning and project scoping
* Preparing cost estimates and project schedules
* Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders

About You
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Proven experience in mechanical design (building services/environment preferred)
* Comfortable carrying out site surveys and working independently
* Based in, or able to commute within, Greater London
* Organised, practical, and commercially aware
