Mechanical Estimator

Primary responsibilities include:

• Working on multiple estimates/construction contracts at the same time.
• Preparing design/build budget estimates and value engineering estimates.
• Soliciting subcontractor bids/vendor quotations.
• Ensuring projects are completed within the time frame and budget.
• Creating estimating spreadsheets and detailed proposals.
• Assisting with determining scope through pre-construction meetings.
• Analysing job cost estimating data from reports.
• Assembling enquiries for specialist subcontractors/suppliers.
• Ability to work on own initiative & meet tender deadlines.
• Developing relationships with customers, our supply chain, and team members.
• Considering innovation and new products.

Requirements for the Mechanical Estimator job :

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methods, including ventilation, heating, BMS and public health services
• Ideally an understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ideally proficient in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ideally able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
