About the Role
1st Step Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor with a valid SMSTS certificate to join a prestigious project in London.

This is a 6-week night shift contract where you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractors carrying out flame proofing works within a plant room, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with site Health & Safety procedures.
We are ideally looking for candidates with a Mechanical background, however applicants with an Electrical background and relevant supervisory experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors carrying out flame proofing works.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
• Monitor compliance with RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Carry out regular site safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
• Liaise with the site management team and subcontractors to ensure works progress safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety throughout the project.
• Report any incidents, hazards or non-compliance to the relevant management team.

Requirements
Essential

• Valid SMSTS certificate.
• Previous experience supervising Mechanical or M&E subcontractors.
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Desirable

• Mechanical background.
• Valid First Aid at Work qualification.
• Experience working within live plant rooms or similar environments.
