Due to company growth, 1st Step Solutions are seeking an experienced, capable and knowledgeable Contracts Manager with a tested track record of overseeing high end refurbishment projects to residential and commercial properties for prestige clients. You will report directly to the Managing Director.

* To work with Assistant Contracts Manager and Managing Director to effectively and efficiently manage major projects to the desired quality level
* Meet gross profit targets and agreed KPIs
* Ensure adherence to:
Effective planning
H & S and other relevant compliance standards
Systems and Best Practice
* Ensure strong Customer Advocacy
* Oversee site managers, labour, subcontractors and liaise with HR on development, progression and performance issues
* Work with Head of Procurement to manage cost-effective purchasing on sites
* Effective liaison with colleagues

Person Specification:

* Strong planning skills and able to manage workload
* IT literate
* Cost and efficiency aware
* Awareness of our environmental responsibility
* Aligned with the business plan and values
* Positive, conscientious and sense of humour
* Professional and courteous

* Knowledge of Construction Health and Safety Regulations
* SMSTS and NVQ6 qualifications are essential
* CSCS Manager or higher level pass and card must be held

* Good understanding of structural works
* Work towards early completion on all projects
* To work to minimise waste and enhance profit at all times
* To efficiently manage allocation of labour
* To focus, plan and prioritise with attention to detail
* To work on own initiative and to instructions
* To take responsibility for the accurate completion of the project control sheet and valuations for each project
* To develop, record and seek to continually improve procedures
* To identify potential and nurture for succession
Health & Safety / Sustainability:
* To work within the H&S policy and in line with legislation and take the lead on implementing effective H&S on all sites
* Will understand the role in reducing the waste produced on site and endeavour to implement environmentally-friendly policies
Customer Advocacy:
* To work to and exceed Considerate Constructors Scheme benchmarks and client-defined requirements
* To oversee the completion of projects to ensure profitability and quality
* To maintain a flow of accurate and current information within the company, with clients and residents, subcontractors and suppliers
* To be responsible for final inspection on projects and secure client sign off
