1st Step Solutions are seeking to recruit an experienced Fabric Construction Manager in Berkshire on a long term project.
Key Purpose:
Effectively and professionally oversee and control the day to day management of projects including Architectural and Structural packages to make a profit by delivering within budget and programme to exceed the satisfaction of the client, project manager and associated directors.
The candidate will be looking after the following:
* White Walls
* Raised Access Floor
* Suspended Ceiling
* Lift Installation (shaft completed by others)
* Gantry to house chiller and generators
* Floor finishes
* Glazing to offices
* Painting and decorating
Key Activities/Requirements:
* Join an existing team and work closely with MEP engineers, co-ordination engineers and appoint sub-contractors to deliver the packages
* Help develop a programme (project planner in-situ, but input and understanding sequencing is key)
* The ideal candidate will be commercially aware to better buy packages
* Work to internal procedures and work with the project commercial team
* Be confident to work in with the Architects and Structural engineers including workshops
* Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
* Develop a good working relationship with all members of staff, client's staff, and all users of the building
* Work on own and within a team
* Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required
* Ensure a professional image is presented to clients, and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is always delivered and promoted
* Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning
* Ensure the site is operated in accordance with local legislation
* Accountable for ensuring that activities are carried out, in compliance with the tasks as set out and Site SOPs, processes, and any adopted procedures
* Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Experience Required:
* Strong professional background, formal relevant C&G or equivalent qualification
* PC literate
* Articulate; an effective communicator, attention to detail
* Minimum 3 years management experience
* Proven experience in managing staff as well as vendor relationships
* Pro-active approach, use of initiative, remain calm under pressure
* Ability to manage multiple projects
* Team player
