1st Step Solutions have a great opportunity for an experienced M&E Project Manager to join a well established MEP company. With their growing experience and knowledge, our client have quickly became recognised as one of the leading MEP Contractors and their client list has increased significantly.

Key Accountabilities will include:
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget to agreed standards and ensure the project budget and costs are managed effectively
Risks are identified and logged with mitigation measures put in place
Effectively manage staff performance on the project by ensuring they have clear roles and responsibilities
Ensure Health & Safety and zero harm is a priority on all activities
Management of sub-contractors
Attendance and input at design team meetings
Responsible for commissioning and a smooth handover

Project Manager Job Description:
Produce and maintain the project Construction / Quality Plan
Ensure that the Risk Assessments and Method Statements are updated and being worked to correctly
Carryout regular Health and Safety Audits on site and complete the appropriate paperwork
Ensure that all plant logs are maintained and provide adequate proof to satisfy an audit
Provide and maintain a daily register of site attendee's
Ensure the toolbox talks are carried out by the sub-contractors / supervisors / engineers / managers regularly and keep records
Ensure that the sub-contractors are working to the correct information and are regularly updated
Attend company project reviews and progress meetings
Attend and chair progress meeting with the sub-contractors
Able to produce look ahead programmes
Able to produce short term programme
Complete drop line to check / maintain progress
Able to review specs and schematics to ensure compliance
Able to manage a commissioning process with the aid of a skilled team
Able to call off and plan deliveries of major plant items & materials in line with programme
Provide and maintain a fixing matrix to ensure that do not have any issues
Able to man manage a team of direct labour and sub-contractors
Able to send comprehensive letters/responses to ensure main contractor are commercially covered
Control the issue of monthly reports, including photos and reasons for delays
Manage and maintain the quality procedures to ensure that we are on target
Ensure that the sign off system is tracked and monitored
Organise and maintain the factory witnessing regime
Ensure that the drawings are correctly issued and maintained
Assist the Quantity Surveyors with regards to variations and percentages complete for invoicing
Ensure that we are only working to instructed items
Chase instructions regularly and record prove of this
Ensure the sub-contractors are issuing the correct working drawings prior to commencement
Ensure that the supply chain provide the correct O&M Information in a timely manner for handover
Ensure that the sub-contractors provide the correct red line drawings to denote any installation changes
Ensure that we provide a collaborative planned approach to all works and trades

Required skills, knowledge & experience:
Project manager experience
Appropriate City & Guilds trade qualification
Punctuality and reliability
Knowledge of health & safety legislation and company procedures
Willingness to learn
Computer literate
Able to work on own initiative
Ability to give and take instruction
