1st Step Solutions are looking for a Mechanical Contracts Engineer to work with our client in a fixed term contract position in Plymouth.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Plymouth

Position: 6 - 12 months (FTC - fixed term contract)

Hours: 40 hours per week (0800am - 1630pm, Monday - Friday)

Salary (between): £42k - £49.5k (depending on experience)

Benefits: Auto enrolment into the pension scheme

Job Description:

  • Supervise mechanical team on site
  • Liaise with clients (arranging access etc.)
  • Assisting with preparation on health & safety documents
  • Site surveys and material procurements
  • Arranging plant, equipment, and materials
  • Preparation of quotations & submissions to clients
  • Coordination & supervision of internal labour and subcontractors
  • Supporting the office and clients with regular progress reports
  • Attending and representing the company at site meetings
  • Maintaining high quality install standards on site
  • Costing additional works and ensuring all relevant financial information is provided to the client and the office.
  • Actively promote high standards of work and efficient working practices.
  • Promote and ensure the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Cooperate with the office management and administration teams and assist with the preparation of progress reports, estimates, and applications for payment.

Skills / Knowledge required:

  • Previous experience working as a mechanical installation contracts manager in an industrial environment
  • Fully computer literate. Microsoft project & auto CAD experience would be an advantage
