We have the following position in the Somerset area

Required: Mechanical Project Engineer/Project Manager

Location: Somerset (flexible/home working x1 day p/w)

Employment: full time & permanent

Salary: £40-£50k p/a

Project sizes: £350-£750k

Duties: Overseeing the installation & design of commercial & industrial heating & plumbing contracts across the region

An opportunity has arisen to join one of Somerset's leading commercial heating & plumbing contractors, established for over 50years they are now looking to add an additional Mechanical Project Manager or Engineer to the existing team.

Job Description:

Specialising within Design & Installation of commercial & industrial plumbing, heating, ventilation, water & biomass systems across sectors including Leisure, Manufacturing, Retail, Healthcare, Education and Central & Local Government.

This role is suited to a Mechanical Project Engineer or Manager in a business delivering multiple projects between £350k - £750k. Working in a design and build environment specialising in HVAC installation.

Basic/Key tasks (but not limited to):

Working in a busy team/office you will work focus on projects you are allocated to.

Acting as the client's point of contact, you're not only responsible for the successful delivery of the onsite works but also those onsite who work indirectly for you day to day.

Effectively manage the onsite labour for the project setting targets & goals and ensuring they are completed effectively, safely and correctly with management and engineering teams.

Complete progress reports for up-line submittal, including reviewing the work of others.

Manage all day to day tasks offsite for the role, project paperwork and the like

Working with the Operations Manager and providing technical assistance on variances / changes to the project where requested.

Act as onsite liaison with the client, ensuring the client is both informed and happy

Attend DTM's with the clients and contractors, set goals, achieve goals and communicate as require within the wider project team.

Proactively manage the projects alongside the design appointments and Pre-Construction team.

Procure materials and equipment throughout the buying process.

Remain responsible for the timely delivery of the tasks allocated to you within the department.

Ensure that KPI's for sub-contractors and consultants are completed.

Create, issue and manage the construction programme.

Project document control, accessing and managing this process across projects to all sub-contractors and contractors on the project

Provide general in business support to other departments as directed.
