1st Step Solutions have an requirement for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager based in Kent. Works will be completed on days and night shifts. Weekend days and night shifts are also available.

Job Purpose:
The role will be a site based role, with critical responsibility for the management and success of the project, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Providing leadership, and energy.
* Controlling prelims, and project budgets.
* Ensuring the mechanical works run to strict programme.
* Managing pre-construction activities.
* Maintaining strict quality control procedures.
* Procurement and management of the supply chain.
* Management of change - client/company/supply chain.
* Lead regular site meetings with all interested parties.
* Report on site progress to project manager.
* Produce and manage two week look ahead.
* Managing sub-contractors to maintain programme targets.
* Assist with commissioning and handover.
* Review of the scope of works, produce RAMS documents where required.
* Issuing technical submittals of all equipment/packages under guidance of the project manager.
* Work closely with the client to ensure all work is carried out correctly and within the allocated time.
* Maintain all required site documentation/permits/plant registers.
* Conducting regular site safety checks.
* Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
* Maintaining effective long term relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.
* Ensuring the project team comply with the Companies Business Management System.
* Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
* Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc. in order to maximise commercial profitability.
* Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement.
* Providing aftercare services to the customer.
* Implementing and maintaining the Company's Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the Company culture and values.
* Coaching and motivating subordinates.
* Any other duties relevant to the role.

* Relevant Mechanical trade qualifications.
* Current, valid CSCS card, ideally supervisor.
* Supervisor/Management experience.
* Experience of a similar role working for a main contractor.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Technical knowledge and experience.
* Commercial and financial awareness.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel and Outlook.
