1st Step Solutions have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer based in Central London. Our client is one of the leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractors in the UK contracting sector and who have an exciting portfolio of engineering projects across the UK. They are one of the most successful contractors in the UK and they have on numerous occasions won awards such as Queens award for enterprise, they have won contractor of the year as well as awards for sustainable developments.

The ideal Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will be driven to deliver quality projects, and will take pride in their work, with a willingness to take ownership and responsibility for projects and the teams working on them. Senior Mechanical Project Engineers need to understand that building and managing relationships is key for this contractor. They have worked on some of the most iconic projects in London.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, who has a solid and stable engineering career history and has worked for contractors starting and completing projects with plenty of commercial experience. Senior Mechanical Project Engineers with experience of commercial and healthcare projects as well as having a flair for design will be seriously considered for this role.


Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Duties:

Produce detailed design in line with specific project requirements.
Commercially and financially manage projects including cost control, valuation, cash collection, payment allocations and change control
Managing the selection process of sub-contractors and suppliers, working closely with procurement teams to progress placement of orders and sub-contractor.
Production of fully coordinated installation drawings to allow for clear direction for site installation.
Managing the construction programme to ensure a clear schedule of works with defined duration's and resource.
Sub-contractor management


Requirements:

Strong technical awareness of mechanical services
Proven track record of delivering large scale projects especially in the health-care and commercial sector
Experienced of working on projects in excess of £20 million
Ideally With a Trade; Plumbing / Pipe fitter background Current, valid CSCS card,
Ideally you are a degree qualified engineer who can drive the electrical design, co-ordination, delivery and handover of the project.
A working knowledge of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel and Outlook
