About the Role

1st Step Solutions are supporting a M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Electrical Project Engineer.

Our client is a leading building services engineering company delivering Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects across a range of sectors.

Role overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their growing team. The suitable candidate will play a key role in managing and coordinating the procurement, construction, and commissioning of electrical packages on major projects. This role requires an individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the full lifecycle of electrical packages, from procurement through to construction and commissioning.
* Provide direction and liaise with sub-contractors and specialist site teams to ensure effective delivery.
* Ensure that all electrical works are delivered in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure project records are up-to-date.
* Participate in regular project meetings, reporting progress and issues as required.
* Identify and resolve design and coordination issues in collaboration with design and construction teams.
* Work closely with procurement to ensure timely and accurate ordering of materials and equipment.

Key Requirements:
* Good technical knowledge of electrical systems and packages in construction settings.
* Demonstrable experience managing and coordinating electrical procurement, installation, and commissioning.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Ability to take ownership and accountability for work.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with sub-contractors and site teams.
* Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
* Assist in the planning and delivery of mechanical building services projects
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* Relevant site-based experience within construction or building services sectors.
* Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Experience working with project management tools.
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
* CSCS card

Desirable:
* SMSTS or similar site management training
