About the Role
1st Step Solutions are supporting a M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer.
Our client is a leading building services engineering company delivering Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects across a range of sectors.
Role Overview:
Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the planning and delivery of mechanical building services projects
* Coordinate and oversee installation activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards
* Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials
* Monitor project progress, produce status reports, and escalate issues when necessary
* Support in the management of health and safety on site in line with company policies
* Contribute to project cost control and assist in managing budgets
* Experience of managing & coordinating the procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work without supervision, take ownership and accountability.
* Demonstrate a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements:
* Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Previous experience in a mechanical project engineering role within building services
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles,
* CSCS card
Desirable:
* SMSTS or similar site management training
