About the Role
1st Step Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing organisation within the Building Services sector, for an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead and maintain the company's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems.
SHEQ Manager (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)
Location: West Midlands Base + UK Travel
Salary: Circa £42k to £50k package
This is a key role responsible for ensuring compliance with UK legislation, ISO standards and industry best practice, while promoting a strong and proactive safety culture across the business.
The Role
- Maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System
- Develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Carry out site inspections and SHEQ audits across operational projects
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
- Prepare SHEQ performance reports for senior leadership
- Deliver health & safety training, toolbox talks and awareness sessions
- Maintain ISO accreditation documentation (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, Safe Contractor, CHAS)
- Monitor environmental performance, waste management and sustainability initiatives
- Support the corporate risk register and internal audit cycle
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Experience managing ISO management systems and compliance processes
- Proven experience conducting site audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Excellent reporting, organisation and communication skills
