Building Systems Engineer

While our client is better known as a building construction company for larger projects, such as airport construction, convention centers, hotels, sports facilities and office towers, the organization also excels at smaller unique projects, such as building renovations, restorations, and repairs. Our clients' growth has created an immediate need for a Building Systems Coordinator in Los Angeles, CA.


We are seeking an experienced Building Systems Coordinator for our Los Angeles District office

Responsibilities:

* Provides owner/client with a quality construction project
* Provides support to superintendents, project managers and estimators in the areas of: site
co-ordination, schedules, meetings and budgeting
* Provides an on-site commissioning role between the mechanical, electrical and other
building trade divisions
* Co-ordinates life safety demonstrations and occupancy reviews with city officials
* Oversees all mechanical and electrical trades for adherence to drawings, specifications,
quality, schedule, progress claims
* Ensures sufficient training is provided to building operators

Qualifications:

* 1-3+ years' experience in a mechanical/electrical construction related position
* Graduated from a recognized architectural, engineering or construction management
program
* Ability to understand and apply construction specifications, methods and procedures
* Experience with scheduling, monitoring and forecasting resources for optimum efficiency
* Understand the scope of work and coordinate trade activity on the project
* Ability to analyze contract documents and make recommendations accordingly
* Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, principles and practices
required
* Working knowledge of specifications/construction drawings
* Experience with basic planning concepts and tracks construction progress
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset

Working Conditions:

This is a site-based position which may involve overtime hours, working outdoors and occasional travelling.
