Andy joined 1stStep Solutions in 2015 as the companies Operation Director, initially to help establish a new office / region in Bristol and the Southwest

<p>Andy joined 1st Step Solutions in 2015 as the companies Operation Director, initially to help establish a new office / region in Bristol and the Southwest, bringing with him 20 years plus experience in the M&amp;E sector covering Trades and White Collar.</p><p>Being part of the 1st Step Solutions Board gave Andy the full understanding of the business, top to bottom, this experience was rewarded in September 2022 when alongside five other Directors, &nbsp;successfully completed a Management Buyout elevating him to the position of Director / Owner.</p><p>Becoming a business owner has not changed Andy, he is still very much active with BDM as well as helping out the resource team in sourcing candidates.</p><p>Away from the office, Andy enjoys golf, football and holidays, all of which he combines with a beer or two.</p>

Careena joined 1st Step in 2004 as a trainee M&E recruitment consultant within the first few weeks of trading,  Mentored by Max White our former MD, Careena progressed to the position of Director whilst managing the M&E London and South Trades division until 2016.

<p>Careena joined 1st Step in 2004 as a trainee M&amp;E recruitment consultant within the first few weeks of trading, &nbsp;Mentored by Max White our former MD, Careena progressed to the position of Director whilst managing the M&amp;E London and South Trades division until 2016.</p><p>Having been one of the six directors that came together to complete the acquisition of 1st Step in 2022 Careena now focuses on all things compliance and operational, ensuring that the ever changing landscape of recruitment compliance is navigated, whilst standards are upheld and that 1st Step remains ahead of the curve embracing new technologies.</p><p>When Careena looks up from her IR35 guidance, &nbsp;she thoroughly enjoys leisurely strolls with her four legged companion, lunches and brunches (normally of the bottomless variety) and getting away from it all on a beach getaway or city break.</p>

Ralph serves as one of the Owners & Directors at 1st Step Solutions, having initiated his M&E recruitment journey over 25 years ago as an M&E Trades Resourcer.

<p>Ralph serves as one of the Owners &amp; Directors at 1st Step Solutions, having initiated his M&amp;E recruitment journey over 25 years ago as an M&amp;E Trades Resourcer. His early experiences involved learning about the industry and various skill sets. Presently, Ralph's time is divided between business development in the South West, account management, staff mentoring, and contributing as one of six Owners/Directors, actively propelling the company's growth with enhanced financial and operational performance. Despite the rapid evolution of his recruitment years, Ralph still finds joy in being part of the experienced team working on M&amp;E freelance and permanent projects, where his journey initially began.</p><p>Ralph's motivation lies in providing optimal solutions, coupled with a commitment to client and candidate satisfaction built around honesty and integrity. He takes pride in witnessing the 1st Step team grow and thrive in an enjoyable environment.</p><p>Away from the dynamic realm of construction and recruitment, Ralph prefers a quieter life. He enjoys activities such as walking the dog, indulging in nice meals, and making frequent trips to the Cornish coast.</p>

Andrea's most recent milestone was her promotion to joint owner, a role she shares with five other board members.</p><p>At the heart of Andrea's division is a deep-seated passion for teamwork and a willingness to tackle the diverse daily tasks that come her way.</p><p>Outside of her professional commitments, Andrea finds fulfilment in spending time with her family and friends, cherishing the simple joys of day-to-day life.</p>

Davinia embarked on her journey with 1st Step Solutions in 2008, initially contributing to the establishment and growth of the M&E White Collar division in tandem with the already thriving M&E Trades division.

Over time, her role evolved, and she now oversees the M&amp;E Trades Team for London and the South East, in addition to leading the M&amp;E White Collar Team in London.</p><p>A significant milestone in Davinia's career occurred in September 2022 when she, along with five other Directors, successfully completed a Management Buyout elevating her to the position of a business owner.</p><p>At the core of Davinia's divisions is a commitment to teamwork and unwavering support for both clients and candidates who she views with equal importance.</p><p>Away from the professional arena, Davinia finds joy in watching England at Twickenham, exploring new countries, and indulging in sipping a pi&ntilde;a colada on a picturesque beach!</p>

In January 2015, Matt became a part of 1st Step to establish a new branch in Bristol, aiming to expand the business beyond the M25. With a specialization in M&E recruitment since 1999, Matt has climbed the career ladder from an Apprentice Resourcer to his current role as Co-Owner of 1st Step Solutions.

He is dedicated to providing a professional and responsive service. Despite his leadership role, Matt remains willing to get hands-on, actively participating in business development and working alongside the team to fill bookings.</p><p>Outside of the professional realm, Matt spends his weekends taking his son to support their local football team. He also enjoys sharing a few beers with friends and family.</p>

Anna became a part of 1st Step Solutions in 2014, bringing with her a year of recruitment experience, having worked in a dynamic rail division with Carillion.

<p>Anna became a part of 1st Step Solutions in 2014, bringing with her a year of recruitment experience, having worked in a dynamic rail division with Carillion. Initially, Anna joined to support Team Administration and played a key role in establishing the Administration Recruitment Desk.</p><p>After dedicating six years to 1st Step Solutions, Anna decided to take the next step in her career by assuming the position of Technical Recruitment Consultant. In this role, she contributes to all aspects of both permanent and contract White Collar Recruitment.</p><p>Beyond the professional sphere, Anna finds fulfilment in engaging in DIY projects, spending quality time with her daughter, and occasionally daydreaming about retirement, envisioning a world-traveling adventure.</p>

In January 2018, Hayley commenced her journey with 1st Step, starting in the Rail and Civils Team. By April 2019, she transitioned to the M&E Trades Team, where her hard work led to her current position as an Account Manager.

These rounds provide her with a comprehensive understanding of projects and allow her to meet the operatives representing 1st Step Solutions. When not on-site with clients, Hayley returns to the office to keep the team motivated.</p><p>Beyond her professional pursuits, Hayley is a live music enthusiast, regularly attending festivals and concerts. In one remarkable year, she attended an impressive total of 12 events, with her favourite being the iconic Harry Styles. If she's not at a music venue, you'll likely find Hayley in her self-proclaimed second home, Paris, savouring a St Germain Spritz in the Bohemian Village of Montmartre.</p>

Kerrie commenced her journey with 1st Step Solutions in September 2016, becoming a part of our London office. Throughout her career with 1st Step, she has taken on various roles, all of which revolve around prioritising our candidates.

Throughout her career with 1st Step, she has taken on various roles, all of which revolve around prioritising our candidates.</p><p>While officially designated as a Recruitment Administrator, Kerrie is so much more than her job title, and is a trusted resource for many of our clients and candidates. Her role is ensuring candidates' timesheets are submitted, clients receive required reports, and overall, she plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the London and South East Team.</p><p>Beyond her professional commitments, Kerrie dedicates a significant amount of time to supporting her family. Additionally, she has a penchant for indulging in a good book, preferably while basking on a hot beach!</p>

<p>Emma serves as the Resource Administrator, overseeing the South West area from our Bristol Office. She became a part of 1st Step in September 2017, following the completion of a one-year apprenticeship at an education recruitment agency, where she earned an NVQ level 2 in business administration. Emma's primary focus is to ensure that candidates have the best possible experience with 1st Step, encompassing resourcing, onboarding, compliance, and the management of timesheets and payroll.</p><p>Outside of her work commitments, Emma enjoys spending quality time with her close friends and family. Her preferred holiday destination is Florida, USA, where she relishes the excitement of the rides at Disney World and Universal parks alongside her fianc&eacute;!</p>

Courtney joined 1st Step in the New Year of 2017. She was initially brought in as a Recruitment Administrator to offer support to the London & South East Trades Team. As time went on, Courtney’s role progressed through Compliance and Marketing & Communications, before finally settling into the Recruitment Team in 2021.

As time went on, Courtney&rsquo;s role progressed through Compliance and Marketing &amp; Communications, before finally settling into the Recruitment Team in 2021.</p><p>Since then, Courtney has found her stride with M&amp;E Recruitment in the Midlands and North-West, and has maintained some client relationships built through her time collecting the weekly timesheets. Courtney is more than happy to work on any out-of-regular-scope roles including Gardeners and Arborists.</p><p>Outside of the office, Courtney can usually be found attached to her Kindle, reading nonstop (she is currently at 230 books read for the year), or on her laptop, writing. Courtney is hoping to finally put her Batchelor&rsquo;s in Creative Writing to use by writing her first novel.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
